Apple Kuchen

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

¼ lb. Margarine
½ cup cake meal
½ cup matzo meal
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk, beaten

Instructions

Cut margarine into dry ingredients; add egg yolk. Pressed into greased spring form pan; go up sides about 1 inch. Arrange sliced apples in crust. Sprinkle with mixture of 2 tablespoons matzo meal, 1 teaspoon sugar and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon. Cover with topping. Topping Mix together ¼ cup sugar, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 egg yolk. Pour over apples. Bake at 400° for 30 minutes. Cool, then glaze. Glaze Heat ½ cup apricot jam with 1 tablespoon orange juice and a few drops of lemon juice until jam is dissolved.
