Aunt Aida’s Asparagus Casserole

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup bread crumbs
1 lb..asparagus, cut up and cooked
1 pimiento, cut in strips
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon salt
½ to 1 cups cheddar cheese

Instructions

Place ½ cup of bread crumbs in greased casserole. Cover with cooked asparagus and pimientos. Sauce: in double boiler, melt 2 tablespoons butter, add flour and blend. Add milk. When thickened, add cheese and salt. Pour over asparagus. Top with remaining ½ cup crumbs and dot with remaining butter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
