Veal Cordon Bleu

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 ˝ lbs. veal, cubed
2 tablespoons shortening
2 tablespoons flour
1 large tomato, sliced (or 1 cup canned tomato)
salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, minced
1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms (or fresh)
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 ˝ cups beef bouillon
1 bay leaf

Instructions

Brown veal in shortening; remove from pan. Sauté onion until yellow; blend in flour. Stir in tomato, mushrooms and ketchup. Gradually stir in bouillon and bay leaf; bring to a boil. Add browned meat; season to taste with salt & pepper. Simmer until tender, about 1 hour, adding more liquid if necessary. Serve with rice or noodles. 4 servings.
